Went here the other night with a bunch of people. My uncle lives close by so it's convenient. A hidden gem at the marina with his pool right next to it. I could order a drink & take 20 steps to his pool. Ah-may-zing. Location, location, location. I didn't order any food here but did have some of a friends nachos - not the best but not the worst, either. Mainly a "pub food" place. Although I ordered a rum runner, it tasted like cough medicine. On the positive side, Piña coladas are on point. The bartender was super friendly & you could tell he was a hard worker. When I'm in town I'll be back.

There's not much to dislike about Dolphin Tiki Bar. In fairness, it should get 3.5 stars, but until yelp gives me the 1/2 star, I have to give this place 3. Just not quite 4 star quality. It's a cute little tiki bar behind a condo complex, which in itself is strange. Open to the public, but it's almost as if it was built primarily for the residents as it's completely hidden from the public and most of the parking is reserved for residents. They have a small outdoor area, and then a covered bar that's open on the sides. The ceiling fans provide some additional circulation, too. They do have a few TVs under the tiki bar if there's a game you want to catch, or given that this is Florida, a NASCAR race. Their specialty drinks are frozen, but we weren't in the mood, so we just got a couple of regular drinks and I got some kind of chicken and cheese dip. Drinks were good - nothing wrong with them. Appetizer was good, too. What this place has going for it is that it is right on the water overlooking a marina for the condo. So it's pretty, and shady under the tiki bar, with reasonably priced and decent drinks and food. Worth a stop if you have some time to kill in the afternoon. It's a relaxing tiki bar by the water.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Caren was amazing. We loved everything about it. The food and drinks are amazing. Stayed here for 10 days and came to the dolphin tiki 3 out of those 10 days. Come here if you are looking for the whole package.

It took several minutes to find this place. It's odd that there's no signage or dedicated parking for this restaurant that is tucked away behind a condominium complex. If only we took this as a sign to stay away. The restaurant is a small tiki joint and on this particular night had a row of salty locals smoking and drinking. We took our seats and ordered after fifteen minutes of confusion over who was supposed to take the order from us. Nachos came with fake cheese sauce and corn chips were soggy from the excessive globs of vomitous cheesy sauce. I would comment on the rest of the meal but they completely forgot to put our order in to the kitchen. After 30 minutes we left without having eaten anything. It's probably for the best because after seeing the nachos, I can only imagine how bad the rest of the meal was going to be.

Fantastic service, great location, and the food is tasty. This is our favorite hidden gem on the island!

Great location but I was not impressed with my fish and chips. I ordered it blackened and it was lightly sautéed and small. Would I go back, probably not .

Well, we came here a couple of times in the past for drinks. Classic waterfront bar. Seating at the bar for about 12 people and 8-10 tables. Attentive staff, and reasonable prices. I decided on the grouper sandwich recommended by the bar keep when I asked about a sandwich. Sounded good, and I opted for the blackened grouper. It came hot and well presented. But there was a noticeable fishy taste to it. After a few bites I decided it wasn't for me. It may have been fine, but in comparison to other places, this really was sub standard. The beer was ice cold and the happy hour crowd were having a great time. Maybe something else from the menu the next time...

Four of us went there last night (Friday the 13th - uh-oh). Our waitress (a tubby with bug eyes and a bun) did everything she could to make our evening a wreck, with eye-rolling and snarky attitude. Look, we spent $150 there at the end of an exhausting week. Thanks, b*tch! I had a fish dish (the most expensive thing on the menu, which our beloved waitress recommended) that was absolutely revolting - watermelon, feta, bacon - what?!? I next ordered the nachos, which were inedible and caused emergency trips to the restroom today at Marco Movies. Absolute must to avoid. Trust me on this.

Nice little place. Seems like a local place but we felt very welcomed by the other customers and bartender. Good drink, great view and a mound of chicken nachos. Exactly what we were looking for in the moment. I guess sometimes they have a guitar player. That night they did not. It was nice and quiet.

  • Elizabeth L.

Yup, it's hard to find, but there are signs in the condo complex, so if you follow them, you can get to it. It's in the middle of the board walk. The food is average. I had the fried Brie, and well, it was ok. Just ok. The crab cakes were a little dry and overdone. The scallops were rubbery. The onion straws were definitely from frozen and dropped in the deep fryer. However, the drinks were great, and if it hadn't been a rainy windy night, the views would've distracted me from how average the food was. Nothing to write home about, other than the view.

Had a delicious lunch with our friends served to us by Gustavo, excellent waiter. The crab tower with shrmp and fresh crab meat was excellent. The presentation was 5 star and the combination of flavors were fantastic. At first reluctant to try the seaweed, but what a delicious flavor it added to the combination! Salads were all fresh and generous portions. A nice surprise right on the water. A must try when visiting Marco!!

  • Christina A.

Get the new crab stack! Delicious and super fresh. Ask the awesome bartender Jill for shot recommendations. We did the baby Guinness. It was adorable and delicious. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Think Cheers on the water. Can't wait to get back!

For a tiki bar, this place is awesome. Their food is much better than other similar places (ie: Pelican Bend). Our server was excellent and friendly. I ordered the shrimp and scallop kabob and I had a ton of food that was fresh. This place gets 4 stars for a tiki bar/lunch place. It is definitely not a fancy, upscale dining experience.

  • stephanie H.

The view could make any of the food "taste better". Service was meak and mild. Waitress seemed to just be day dreaming her day away. She could have made more money attending to her table, then dreaming about the beach as you could tell she was sunburnt and wearing her bathing suit under her work clothes. We had to tell her all the items missing from the cheap quality nachos. They could have only cost maybe $3 to make, but sold for $12. Frozen drinks were weak. My pulled pork sandwich wasn't bad. I'd give it a 3 out of 5. But here's what I don't get .... Overcooked fries... How can you overcook fries?! Grease probably hasn't been changed in months... Maybe even a year.

Great hidden gem. Cute little place with a good view. Good place to grab drinks. Basic bar food plus some fish options. Several TVs to watch sports.

    (4)
  • Ken H.

Boom boom shrimp was pretty good, I would totally swing by next time I'm in town to grab some. Grouper was good too. If you order the nachos call 4 of your friends.

Great location on the water (we found it with no problem b/c we can see it from the condo we rented for the week at Angler's Cove). The place is almost completely shaded, which is nice for us fare-skinned northern folks. Service was super friendly and the food was wonderful (and surprisingly, delivered quickly). My wife got the Tuna Salad Sandwich, which was very light and healthy tasting. We shared the Fried Brie and it was wonderful (don't worry about how it looks - go for it... creamy goodness). I had an appetizer for dinner and was blown away - the chicken jerk (or maybe it was called "Jamaican jerk"). Amazing. I also had a Mai Tai and being the Mai Tai connoisseur that I am, I give it one thumb up. Good stuff.. My poor preggo wife couldn't drink, so I might have to come back here this week before we leave to have another drink.

  • Gerry C.

Having lunch on the water, the view is amazing! I had the fish tacos, with the blackened mahi mahi. It is a spicy mix of fish, crispy fresh coleslaw, mild peppers and a spicy baja sauce. They were accompanied by black beans with feta, that was almost like refried in taste and the cheese was a pleasant surprise. My wife had a very decent hot dog, and the kids had chicken strips, that she said was one of the best they ever had! All in all a great meal, the bathrooms were difficult to get to, and I can see how this place can get crazy during the busy season, but worth a stop by if possible.

    (4)
  • Jim M.

Nice spot right on the water. We had them make our catch of the day a Pompano and it was great. We also had the crab appetizer that was very good. Great atmosphere and location.

    (4)
  • Nicole Z.

Cutest little place on the water! The decor is super cute and comfortable/relaxed environment. Of course I wouldn't come here for silly appetizers like nachos and a hot dog like other yelpers ordered. But instead ordered the conch fritters and shrimp tacos! Shrimp tacos had a great sauce and light slaw! More signs needed to direct you to the back of the parking lot but loved this place and would make another 40 min drive from the Naples summer house to Marco island and stop here again!

  • Amy H.

Great hidden tiki bar/restaurant. Good food friendly staff. Definately worth stopping by.

  • Shandra G.

Agree with other reviews that it was a little hard to find. For those still trying to find it - turn just before Rose Marina in what looks to be condos and go all the way to the docks. Walk right on the docks and you are there. Food was best restaurant we have tried on Marco perhaps because we primarily ate the two specials - Grouper Piccata and Seared Scallops. View of the bay was fab and even though it poured rain we stayed dry. Atmosphere was all you could ask for on. FL beach.

    (5)
  • Robert M.

Careful people! Do not order the daily catch. It was NOT caught that day. Grouper is abundant in Marco. As a local I know this. I ordered it and bit into the fishiest grouper I've ever eaten. It should not be! If you must go order the safe things.....not fresh things that they claim are so good.

  • Moni V.

As out of towners we decided to try this place. We sat at the bar and had a view to the marina right before it went dark. Bob the bartender was really nice and welcoming. We ordered the Coconut shrimp and the Crab Stack. They were both really good. They also have a Wednesday $22 whole lobster, it looked fantastic. We wore looking for something casual and where all the locals gathered and we found it! Small place but a great find. We had a great time and sure hope to come back soon. Great ambiance, happy people and overall great!

  • Samantha F.

Yikes! I so wanted to give this place a good review but I just can't. Where to start... The view is AWESOME! Great location! The food is good! Grouper Sandwich, Crab Stack, Chicken Sandwich & more were all yummy! The tea is not fresh brewed, it's instant. The service was terrible, maybe the worst we have experienced. Blaire in particular should be avoided. Bad attitude, rude, smarty & unhelpful. For our party of 8 we were handed a stack of cups, pitchers of water & tea, stack of silverware & straws to pass out. No big deal, we poured all our own drinks & passed everything out. But add that to a rude server & there is nothing left to tip on. All in all we won't go back & do not recommend.

  • Ann R.

We were lured to this place through the yelp app and we're delighted with our experience. You have to go look for this place. It is hidden away with no signs to direct you but I maps does a good job of getting you close. We had the grouper sandwich, crab tower and a couple of beverages. All met or exceeded our expectations. And... There were Dolphins that kept swimming into and out of the cove!

    (4)
  • John C.

We were in the Dolphine Tiki twice today and our service was attentive and efficient on each occasion. Tim our waiter really took great care. I am from out of town (TEXAS) down here for a visit staying in a local condo. One can tell this is a local favorite. If you wish to experience polite folks and some great local eats you will not be disappointed. They have a very ablanced offering that should meet most expectations. Visiting at peak hours they did not lack on service. We are looking forward to the start of breakfast Sunday morning. Great little hide away...

As a Naples local, I don't get out to Marco Island much, but this tiny place is a hidden gem! I happily give it 4 stars because of location and service. A gal friend and I went here by boat as they conveniently have 2 slips right in front for easy docking. As we moseyed into this adorable tiki bar, we were greeted by the kind face of Gayle and then made our way to the bar. We drank two of the coldest coronas ever ( the salt rimmed glass was limey too yuumm) and shared a huge chicken taco salad, which was stellar. The handsome and charming bartender, Gustavo, gave us top notch service. We will definitely be back !

  • George S.

Visited here twice during our stay on MI. The food was very good. I had seafood dinners each time and needed them cooked to my dietary needs, which they did. My wife loved their Margarita's, and she is opinionated about these. The 1st night we had a woman waitress and she wasn't very attentive and didn't even say thank you. I left the restaurant with a negative feeling about the place. Because the food was real good, we tried again and got Bobby. He was great! The 2nd experience renewed my feeling about this place.

    (4)
  • C B.

George K is 100% correct. We had the same female server twice. Attitude both times. REALLY bad crab stack and the nachos were disgusting. I ordered them after the first bad visit. Figured how can they screw up nachos? Silly me. A simple " I'm sorry" would have gone a long way. Gustavo is another server, he is good. The Boom Boom Shrimp is good, too, but I won't be back. Too many other great places.

Recently visited Marco and had two great experiences at Dolphin Tiki. Really cool how this is such a hidden gem. Took the kids for lunch and the portions were great and the food was better! Kids chicken fingers are hand breaded and very good. Kids grilled cheese is on real bread and cooked perfectly. Wings were good as well. Sauce could have been hotter but were still good. Next visit sans kids to check out the night scene. Drinks were good and staff was friendly and attentive. Jim and Kim are great! I tried the Conch fritters as an appetizer. More conch than batter! Moist and cooked perfectly. Got the chicken fingers again with fries because they were so good. I highly recommend a visit to the Dolphin Tiki on Marco Island...ask a local because it's not easy to find but well worth the search!

Went here for the first time with my cousin. A great atmosphere on the bay. Not too noisy and excellent service. We all had grouper, each prepared a different way, but all enjoyed our meal. I would recommend.

The best tiki bar on island and with excellent food to boot. Try the conch fritters. Really a find!

  • Amanda P.

We found this hidden gem while looking for a good place to eat. The manager and bartender were very friendly. We got the shrimp wrapped in bacon and fish tacos which were excellent. We went back a second time for the lobster dinner. It was a great value. We will definitely visit next time were in Marco Island.

  • Jim C.

It is hard to find as it is in the middle of a large condo project. It is right on the waterfront and docks. All open air - no walls, so great views and breezes. We went just for drinks and to watch football games on the many TV's. Smoking is allowed so be forewarned and chose where you sit (if you can).

    (3)
  • Greg D.

Nice place. Average bar style food. Good atmosphere and good prices and drinks. It is worth your time. Enjoy the view.

    (4)
  • Melissa P.

A little hard to find. The Fried Brie is DELICOUS! I also had the Blackened Mahi Tacos. So good! Service is by far the best I've had in a long time. The staff is super friendly and hospitable. I would definitely come back :)

  • Liz L.

Ugh - I really hate to write a bad review, but this place was pretty awful. Well, the food may have been good, if we ever received it. After enduring the grouchy hostess and waiting close to 45 minutes for even a bite of food, we notified the waitress that we were leaving. There were two parties that were seated when we arrived and they hadn't even gotten their food when we walked out. I felt bad, b/c the waitress seemed very sweet, and she was clearly overworked.

  • Perry A.

if your looking for something off the beaten path this is it. a little hard to find but it was worth the effort. lunch was busy so we had to wait awhile. it's a tiki bar not a restaurant. portions were huge. very pleasant and relaxing atmosphere

  • Nancy M.

Great location, however when you advertise to stay open till 10 pm, you should do so! I am an owner in Anglers and went down last evening for what I thought would be last call (9:30) and was told sorry we already cashed out the registers....pretty poor business if you ask me. Ate there the other evening and the waitress' are less than friendly....with the exception of Jill. Did you train your employees to be snobs, or is it you really don't have a clue as to what it takes to run, what could be a fun bar! Very disappointing! Was hoping the kinks would have worked themselves out by now!

A true Tiki Bar on the water great view and service is friendly looks like lots of locals come here we grabbed a few beers and had some fish sandwiches great place to chill definitely

Hard to find but a lot of people do find this Gem. Good food and service all with a great view. This is the first place we go when we get to Marco Island. The Hog Wings are fantastic

  • John K.

First, I would like to say the place isn't the easiest to find, the signs are small. However, the place is a little gem. We have been coming to Marco Island for 9 years now and this was our first time to the Dolphin. We arrived around 6pm and only had to wait at the bar for about 5 min before we were seated. The menu is the same for lunch and dinner and the prices were pretty good. I think everything on the menu is less than $20. The drinks were cold and the food was wonderful. I had the grouper special and my wife had the group sandwich. We have been to several other places on the island over the last 9 years and this was the best grouper we have had. The atmosphere is laid back. There are people dressed up and people dressed in tank tops and swim suits. Its a fun little place on the water. We went back a couple of days later for lunch and I had the spinach salad and it was very good. The portions are pretty good considering the price. Will go back the next time we are down.

    (5)
  • Kenji G.

WOW this place is hard to find. Its a little tiki bar behind the anglers condos. There is no sign you just walk through the condos and there it is on the dock. Definitely a local hangout but good burgers, chicken sandwich and fish tacos. Prices were reasonable with 4 drinks, 4 meals and 2 apps 70. only downer is smoking is allowed but it is open air so it didnt bother us.

  • Robin S.

Our favorite spot for a drink and good conversation! Love the girls at the bar. Stacy, Cindy, Pam and Sandy!! Great peel and eat shrimp with my Key Lime Pie martini!!

Great food and service a place where the locals hang out. It is priced right and excellent fish sandwich.

    (5)
  • Kevin M.

One of our favorite lunch places. Can't beat the waterfront view and ambiance. The Pro's: Good quality food, friendly service, fair prices (for Marco and given high food quality), perfect spot to watch sports or just hang out in a waterfront setting The Con's: Too many smokers... this isn't the restaurant's fault but we have to complain to someone! Quit billowing your smoke into my meal you presumptuous jerks!

    (4)
  • Rick R.

A fun and comfortable place right on the water. Lots of friendly locals. Try the blackened grouper sandwich. One of the best on the island. Very friendly staff. Coconut shrimp, grouper francaise and their crab cakes are all excellent. As others have said, it is a bit challenging to find. Park in any non reserved parking spot in the condo complex and head toward the water. You won't be disappointed. The entire place was remodeled over the last year. One of our favorites as Marco residents.

    (4)
  • Greg L.

My wife and I stopped here for a drink while exploring the island. We heard there was a view of the bay and wanted to see what it was like. Immediately we decided we liked the location. It is a little hard to find, but as another reviewer said, just walk toward the docks and you will see it. We had the jalapeno poppers with our beer and they were very tasty. We watched pelicans come and go and some boaters on their way out to sea as well. Good atmosphere and great prices for the neighborhood. Try it out!

Why three local Marco families will never eat or drink at dolphin tiki bar and cafe again .... We arrived a little after 6 pm for drinks and appetizers with plans to have another couple join us at 7:15 for dinner. We ordered 3 appetizers and were just finishing them along with a 2nd round of drinks when the owner of the bar started pressuring the waiter to bring us our check. Our server reluctantly capitulated with his owner's request and sat the check on the table explaining that he'd be happy to "add to the tab" if we planned to keep ordering. We did order a 3rd round of drinks and were waiting for our drinks when our two friends arrived in the parking lot to join us for dinner and drinks. knowing we had just ordered drinks and were intending to order dinner for 5 the owner stood next to our table and (loudly enough so he was sure we could hear him) exclaimed to a group of patrons waiting for a table "if these people would just pay their bill I could seat you." We explained that we had just ordered another round of drinks and were less than a minute from ordering dinner for five when he said "we'll, if you would just move to the railing I'll buy you a round of drinks; I only have 9 tables here." Incredulous! We did him the favor and cancelled our 3rd drink order, intercepted our two friends in the parking lot and took our dinner party of 5 to CJs. We are a group of 4 island families who meet weekly for dinner and drinks with an avg nightly tab of $400-$500. Money we will NOT be spending at Dolphin Tiki bar until/unless ownership changes! May 17, 2013.

Great no frills spot to have a beer. Can't beat the view but difficult to find. Seems like it might be a local spot. If you're lucky you might just see the resident marmoset.

Good breakfast, diner food. Not an egg and I, but good enough. No wifi.

  • Julie J.

It took us two tries to find this place, but WOW were we glad we did. It is hard to find good food on Marco, IMHO, but this place was really good. We have been here a week and have been to the usual places and I was not impressed. Our party of four, who all like different things, all agreed this was the best meal we have had on this trip. We started with the fried brie and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. I love brie but the rest of our party was not so sure. Everyone loved it. The mushrooms were really good, I think, even though the guys ate them so fast all I got was a taste of the cheesy delicious filling. The men had the prime rib and the ladies had the piccata grouper, all of which were on special. The grouper was the first fish I have had on this trip that wasn't paper thin and over cooked. The prime rib impressed the midwestern beef lovers which is not easy to do. All in all, the food and atmosphere was great - what could be better than a waterside tiki bar setting with big plasma TVs? The service was good enough; we were greeted promptly and guided in a very friendly manner on where to sit and get a drink during the very short wait for a table. During dinner our water glasses went empty and we might have ordered another drink, but that is minor compared to the great food and surroundings. Our only regret is that we did not find this place sooner. Look for the Anglers Cove condos, drive past the buildings and take a right. Go to the end of the parking lot and you will see the docks and a tiny sign for Dolphin Tiki Bar. They aren't allowed any more signs, so be persistent and don't give up til you find it!

Hidden tiki bar on the harbor. Very dive-y, very cool. Park at the Angles Condominiums and go towards the back of the property where the harbor is at and you'll see the small bar out there. It feels like the Cheers version of Naples - where everybody knows everybody else. Super cheap and good appetizers. We loved passing an afternoon at a table watching the Pelicans fly by and the boats go in and out. Definitely check it out if you're looking for a very casual Marco experience.

  • Jeff K.

I wouldn't say it was ... a 5 star and true tiki bar. I think a true tiki bar is a lil more .. ummm, tiki-ish? lol The food was anything but "great"! It was all fried to the same exact doneness which was overdone. Waitress was great, people are ALL old and the food I am sure tasted "great" to them..lol. but not to the 40 something year olds and the 12 year olds. Great place to chill for sure, nice watching the boats and water and really a relaxing place. Just drink, skip the food.

  • Carrie G.

Came here to watch the Bears game. Had 4 adults and 5 kids, 2 of which were 15 years old. The hostess, Laura, had one of the worst attitudes. For a place that is supposed to be customer friendly, she took it upon herself to make the night very unpleasant. Comments were being made about her all night from other patrons. Will choose sandbar, sunset grill or Joeys before coming back. It is unfortunate because we are down here half of the fiscal year and like to be loyal to places.

  • Island G.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! DO NOT GO THERE! Since recently changing ownership the restaurant has taken a big turn for the worse. I went for breakfast and wanted to sit by the water...it was breezy and cold out. I asked the staff to lower a couple of plastic wind screens to block some of wind and keep my food from getting cold. I was told the wind screens cannot be put down because once they are up...they are up to stay. HELLO! I'm the paying customer and if I want to sit by the water then put the screens down! It's so cold management is handing out sweatshirts...but we can't put the screens down. I will never be back here and I'm a local. What a shame...

Great food! Fresh seafood, best food we had in Marco. My girlfriend and I are in our 30's visiting my patents, we are very picky eaters and if you want a decent meal come here! Little hard to find but worth it!

Now three stars after another try. Food much better this time. Plus seemingly real grouper.

This place is great. It is tricky to find, it's in the middle of a condo development by the water. Staff was very friendly. Food was very fresh and prepared well.

Great place! Laid back, great prices (especially for Marco), tasty food, and STRONG drinks.

Great meals tonight at the Dolphin Tiki Bar!! My friend and I had the crab cake dinner and both of us thought they were some of the best crab cakes we had ever eaten. They were moist and packed with lump crab and very little filler. One friend had the prime rib and proclaimed it excellent. Our fourth person ordered the coconut shrimp, and ate them all!! Don't waste a fancy outfit at the Tiki, however! It's a VERY casual bar on a marina! Highly recommended!
